Performance, of sorts
As the rhetoric regarding Mitt Romney's faith escalates, what's been largely overlooked in the media is the The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints' continued practice of Baptizing the Dead by proxy, or Vicarious Baptism. Frowned upon by every major religion yet performed today by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, this attempt to co-opt others' faith goes beyond reproach. Those baptized without permission include devout Christians, Jews and every one of our founding fathers. Barack Obama's own mother was baptized by proxy, without his permission, after she passed on.
It is in response to this reprehensible behavior that I launched the Church of NOTM ORMON, where we baptize both the deceased and the living by proxy, without their permission.
